TICO TERMINAL SERVICES

MAKING PORTS MORE EFFICIENT SINCE 1975

TICO Terminal Services lets you focus your management and capital resources on making money—not on procuring and managing essential equipment 24/7.

TICO Terminal Services provides leading ports the spotter trucks, trailers, and specialized equipment they need–when they need it. Our neutral pools and hybrid lease/rental systems help our valued customers contain costs, mitigate risk, maximize land use, and achieve more efficient production.

At TICO, we cut our teeth in the demanding, fast-paced world of container stevedoring operations. We’ve partnered for decades with the top names in the stevedoring, terminal, and port management space because our business model makes sense for your business. You get maximum flexibility and pay for equipment only when you need it.

LOCATIONS

GEORGIA REGION

Since 1975. TICO’s first, largest, and busiest port operation supports the Georgia Port Authority terminals in Savannah, Georgia, plus surrounding warehousing, distribution centers, and various manufacturing plants 24/7. In addition to our Pro-Spotter terminal tractors, TICO provides the stevedores with 70-ton Pro Shuttle bombcarts for containers and a variety of specialized trailers, hitches and attachments capable of transporting nearly any kind of heavy lift or out-of-gauge ro-ro freight imaginable. TICO maintains a dedicated fleet of terminal tractors and trailers used daily, exclusively by the GPA. Our Fuel User Group operates a fleet of tank wagons providing fuel for all support vehicles operating on the port.

CAROLINAS REGION

Since 1983. Servicing ports in Charlestown and Georgetown, South Carolina and Wilmington, North Carolina. In Charleston, TICO maintains a fleet of terminal tractors, trailers and various other specialized equipment that support cranes and all types of ro-ro and break bulk operations. The SCSPA Inland Port in Greer, SC is a rail operation providing a daily dedicated rail service to and from Charleston, serviced by TICO spotter trucks and trailers. Over the past few years, the North Carolina State Port Authority’s Port of Wilmington has experienced a significant increase in container vessel calls and TICO’s footprint there has increased accordingly.

FLORIDA REGION

Since 1988. Servicing Florida ports in Jacksonville, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, and Tampa, plus Brunswick, Georgia and San Juan, Puerto Rico. TICO’s tractor fleet in Florida is a blend of standard terminal tractors and other very use-specific units, custom-built for the many unique services the JAX and Puerto Rico ports have developed around their ro-ro vessels. JAX Ports and the Brunswick Terminal in Georgia are top vehicle-handling ports. Terminal tractors are not required to move and process automobiles, but shuttle busses are. TICO provides vehicles modified to safely deliver drivers into vessels, some with less than 6′ of deck height clearance.

GULF REGION

Since 2004. Servicing ports in Houston, La Porte, Pasadena, Freeport, and Beaumont, Texas. TICO began operating in Houston in 2004 by furnishing a single customer with a pool of the newest tractors for Barbours Cut Terminal, followed by the opening of the Bayport Terminal in Pasadena. When two ship-to-shore cranes were placed in Freeport and container vessels began calling in 2015, TICO placed a pool of tractors and trailers there. An extensive inventory of specialized equipment needed to work various ro-ro and military vessels is domiciled in several terminals along the Houston Ship Channel (or Turning Basin) and in Beaumont, TX. Our Texas facility has been instrumental in developing numerous specialized attachments, adaptors, and specific-use trailers to assist our customers in achieving safer and more efficient production.
